It’s been a while, huh? Alot has happened lately. I’ll try to summarize it quickly for you.
For Halloween, I was Misty from Pokemon, and two of my friends were Ash and Brock. It was really fun. I realized that Misty was really 90’s and wore a really skanky outfit. I tried to emulate it as best as possible. Unfortunately, I don’t have a picture of myself being Misty at the moment, but I’ll probably update this post when I get one. I do, however, have a picture of Misty, the cartoon, so you have an idea.

Yup. I wore these cutoff shorts and little yellow tube top to school. It was really really fun, haha. I really love Halloween. Dressing up is my FAVORITE. Freshman year, I was Cinderella and wore this ridiculously huge blue dress to school. Last year, I was Belle, from Beauty and the Beast, and wore a yellow dress to school. There are pictures, I think.

The left picture is from my cousin’s debutante ball in the Philippines and the right picture is of me in my Physics class freshman year, wearing the giant dress. It was really fun, especially because I was tripping all over myself that whole day, haha. I have pictures of the Belle costume, but they’re not uploaded to an image hosting site at the moment and I don’t want to upload straight into this post. I’ll just put those pictures up later.
Anyway, on Halloween, I went trick-or-treating with my baby cousins. Everyone looked really suspicious as they gave me candy, but I was dressed up so they have no right. Afterwards, my older cousins came over and stayed to talk and eat dinner. My friends had a Halloween party that I was invited to, but I didn’t go because I wanted to spend the day with my family. They said it was really fun, but I had a good time with my cousins.
The next day, my Korean percussion club had a performance at a college in the city. We all met up at the cultural center and packed up the instruments and packed up the people and drove over there. We practiced a little but I was still really nervous because we got wind of the performance only a week before the day we were supposed to perform. We had only practiced the routine a couple of times and I was apprehensive about playing. I had nothing to worry about. We were amazing, as usual, and we blew the socks off of everybody at the venue. I’m so proud of my club and so happy that I started something that became so big. When we had recruitment meetings a little while ago, there were so many people there that I didn’t know what to do with myself. I was so glad that there were that many people interested in what we do. Anyway, although I don’t have a picture of us actually performing, I do have a couple of group pictures of us after the performance. We were all so happy and still so pumped from a great show. =]

Afterwards, our friend’s dad took us all out to eat and we stayed out late, haha. I had to drive people home and didn’t get home myself until midnight. I was exhausted, haha. But I had so much fun and I can’t believe how happy all these people make me. I always tell them, but they’ll never really know how much I love them all. Without this club, I don’t know where I would be.

So Barack Obama won the Presidential Elections. There were TONS of people in Grant Park in Chicago. Where was I when he won? I was sleeping. -_- I had decided that night at 7pm to take a small nap because I was EXHAUSTED from school. I was going to wake up at 8pm but I woke up at MIDNIGHT instead. I was so sad, haha. I went online to talk to my friend and he said that I had missed EVERYTHING. I listened to his acceptance speech online and i was crying, haha. It was ridiculously inspirational and I am so glad that our country and our world are taking this turn for the better. I used to be worried that I would be inheriting a world that was ruined by former generations, but now I know that my future will be brighter because of this election and this new president.
Today, I’m going to a Filipino American Film Festival with some friends. I hope it’s good because I’m really excited to go there. They’re playing a Filipino American film about a boy who has to go back to the Philippines because his parents pass away. I think it’s about how he has to learn about and adjust to the culture of the Philippines. It sounds really cool and I’m really excited about it.
I’ve been reading alot lately. I finally got into Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. Everyone’s been telling me to read it but I’ve been apprehensive because it’s chick lit and I’m not so into that. But my sister bought the books and told me to read them so I picked up the first one one day and just got into it. It’s so good. I stayed up all night and read the first one, Twilight, in like 5 hours. I started at 1am and finished at 7am, with an hour break to talk to a friend somewhere in there. It is SO GOOD. Edward Cullen is a DELICIOUS character. If he was a real person… Oh mahn. And it’s probably not a good thing to say that this isn’t the first time I’ve fallen in love with a ficational character. Sometimes the fictional ones are better than the real ones, though… ANYWAY, if you haven’t read it, please read it. I’m on the second one now, New Moon. My sister says that she likes this one the least of the four in the saga, so I’m just waiting to see why. So far, though, it’s living up to it’s repuation. I hope the movie is as good. I’m apprehensive to watch it because movies taken from books are usually bad. So I don’t know yet.

Another book I wanna read is the last book in the Inheritance Saga by Christopher Paolini. I have the other two and when I saw that this had come out, I wanted to read it as well. I hope it’s as good as I expect, because I just read a review for it that said it wasn’t so good at all. Oh well. I still want to read it. =] It’s a pretty good story. I remember reading the first one back in grade school and really liking it. I was in a fantasy phase back then and really liked books with dragons and knights and all of that good stuff. I lost touch with the when I got into high school but I still want to finish up this series. It was supposed to be a Trilogy but I think he’s decided to write a fourth book, so we’ll see how that turns out.
The last book I’m thinking about is The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. I don’t know much about this book, but my friend and I are going to read it together, like a little book club because I’ve heard good things about it. My friend was reading it once and recommended it to me, so I’m excited to read it because I love good literature, if you haven’t already noticed, and I can’t wait to jump into a good book. If you’ve read it, can you tell me if you like it? I want to start it soon, but I’m still on the Twilight Saga and want to finish before I get into anything really different from vampires and romance, haha.
So, I’m pretty sure that I have to go pick up my friend to go to the festival right now. This post had a ton of pictures. I hope my hard work was appreciated! Enjoy your weekends! =]
P.S. Subukan ko = I’ll try.
